'Sometimes a child needs to be disciplined': Arsenal fans hopeful for Guendouzi redemption

Matteo Guendouzi left the Emirates for Hertha Berlin on the deadline day. He has not played for the Gunners since the Neal Maupay incident in June.

However, there is no buyout option in his loan deal with the Bundesliga side. It means that next summer, the midfielder will return to north London.

And Arsenal fans hope the Frenchman returns to the club a more mature player in June.

Lazy_ML on Reddit: "I always felt like he needed a loan but we couldn't afford to let him go. I think this is really good opportunity for him to improve his game.

"As for his attitude, he's just a kid. A lot of footballers have shit attitudes at that age and then just grow up. He can do it too. I really hope he can turn it around and have a career at Arsenal."

Wale Asifat, Tribuna.com: "Well sometimes a child needs to be disciplined and show him he’s indispensable. There are different types of correctional method for players. So now he will learn better how to comport himself and put his emotions under check."

Britton120 on Reddit: "He is 21 years old (same age as Willock and Emile Smith Rowe is 20), no reason he can't get to that point. Elneny and Xhaka are both 28 and aren't going to be massively improving their play at this point, they may improve their production with the inclusion of Partey but they are at or near their ceilings already. In 3/4 years it is unlikely Xhaka and Elneny will be on the squad."

Elothel on Reddit: "Good loan. A strong, different league, great city, a club where he has a real possibility of being a leader and a first team regular and enough time to make our fans forget about his antics - now it's all up to him."
