  • Gabi is happy to play football again.
  • He is grateful to Arsenal doctors for helping him in the recovery process.

"It was a great feeling to get minutes tonight—huge thanks to the medical and physio teams at Arsenal for their fantastic work and to the fans for the amazing support during my long recovery," Gabriel Martinelli tweeted, adding a heart emoji.

The young forward played 45 minutes in the Papa John's Trophy game between Arsenal U21s and AFC Wimbledon.

Martinelli picked up a knee injury in June and this game has been the first one for him in nine months.

Unlike Ozil and Sokratis, the 19-year-old can play in the Premier League as he was included in the club's U21s list for the competition.

However, it's likely that Mikel Arteta won't rush him into action so he does not aggravate his injury.
