Fan names 5 reasons why Arsenal should not sell 'ballsy fighter' Calum Chambers

Back in November last year, Arsenal confirmed that Calum Chambers recovered from the ACL injury he suffered in December 2019.

The centre-back has made only two appearances for the Gunners since that announcement, featuring for 20 minutes in the 4-1 win against Rapid and then playing the entirety of the 4-2 victory against Dundalk.

His contract expires in June 2022 and the Gunners will have to make a decision on whether to keep him or offer him a new deal this summer. This fan thinks Arsenal should retain Calum.

"Personally, I would not sell Chambers for several reasons," Gman A. wrote on The Athletic.

  • "He has character and he is a ballsy fighter which Arsenal needs.
  • He was Arsenal's best CB last season before sadly tearing his ACL.
  • 26 is a good age for this position as it often requires time and maturity to establish consistency and game in and game out reliability.
  • His time at DM with Fulham revealed a player that has more skill on the ball centrally than originally given credit for.
  • Chambers is home-grown and it is a major asset to hold on to."

What do you think the Gunners should do with Calum?
