Gabriel 9, Leno 2: rating Gunners in Olympiacos win

Martin Odegaard - 9

He looked the smooth operator Mikel Arteta's talked up so much. Quick on his feet, fast mind and an absolute belter of a goal to open the scoring when the Gunners struggled to take simpler chances. We are sure his sub means he'll start vs Spurs this weekend.

Gabriel - 9

A surprise inclusion to some after Pablo Mari put in another assured display vs Burnley - but boy are we glad Gabriel played tonight. Won 5 out of 6 aerial duels, completed 90 per cent of his passes, was not dribbled past once and then directed that looping header into the net. Gorgeous.

Thomas Partey - 7

He's probably still not 100 per cent fit but we lost something when Partey came off. Quite aside from his assist for Odegaard, Thomas is more secure in possession than Dani Ceballos - and proactive out of it. His reading of the game was exceptional once again.

Bernd Leno - 2

Quite frankly, committing two blunders in the space of 5 days should be reason enough to to drop the German. We understand Arteta wants to play out from the back, but only tonight Leno made 2 bad mistakes, one of which got punished. He doesn't seem to learn when to play through the press and when to clear his lines.

David Luiz - 3

Almost as much to blame as Leno for the early Olympiacos chance. The passing lane was shut off, yet he played the pass anyway. Plays the game at his own speed. Also needlessly rocked up to the opposition's box late in the game when we were hanging onto a slender lead.
