Earlier, we wrote about a cute Instagram exchange between Dani Ceballos and Achraf Hakimi on Instagram.
In the comments to Hakimi's reply to Dani, 2 Arsenal fans started debating whether the Gunners should sign Achraf or Tariq Lamptey.
Both players are linked with a move to the Emirates as a potential replacement to Hector Bellerin, who reportedly considers leaving the club for a new challenge.
One fan wants Arsenal to go for Lamptey while another hopes we land Hakimi, and both have solid arguments to back their opinions.
duke.stein: "Rather have Lamptey. You know, a right-back who can actually defend. Arteta likes to play a wing back upfront and another one more defensively.
"That's why we need a defensively strong right-back. When Tierney goes upfront do you really want Hakimi staying back? Lamptey is Premier League proven. I don't want another Pepe at RB.
"Let's see if Arsenal rather pay 60m for Hakimi or 30m for Lamptey."
nikolasventouris_: "Wtf does that mean? Money has nothing to do with the player. If you're getting a flop it doesn’t matter how much you spend. The thing is Hakimi is the best RB in the world, he is extremely young, and can take our right side to the next level.
"If you want to stay as a mid-table team, grab mediocre players like Lamptey. I want Arsenal to win PL and UCL every year. That’s never gonna happen with Lamptey at RB. I wish it could."
duke.stein: "But Hakimi could flop massively... Spending 20-30mil on a young, promising Prem-proven RB isn't bad at all. You think Lamptey is gonna stay at this level forever?
"We just signed Tierney for 30mil 2 seasons ago and he's now arguably top 3 left-backs in the league. The risk isn't worth that money. Just look at Havertz..."
nikolasventouris_: "Havertz wasn’t as good to begin with. I didn’t like Havertz. He was facing awful defences and still not good enough. In Chelsea he is used incorrectly as well.
"Hakimi is younger and better and has everything a PL right-back should have: Pace and technique. He is worth a shot and Kroenke is so rich I don’t give a fk if he loses some money.
"Look at Cancelo. He is not as good defensively too but he is one of the best City players at the moment. Your points are weak. Everything in life has some if's, some risks. You gotta take them if you want to become the best.
"If you are scared to take risk your destined to stay mediocre and not do whatever you love and like."
duke.stein: "We took risks in signing Pepe, Mustafi and Xhaka. I don't want risks. I want the player Arteta favors, because he knows what he's doing and he didn't sign a single flop.
"It's looking likely that we're gonna sign Lamptey. But I don't understand why you think signing Lamptey is a bad decision. We are no Chelsea or City who can spend over 200mil per transfer window.
"You don't know what a loss it would be if Hakimi flopped. And the chances that Lamptey will do good are way higher than Hakimi's chances."
