Vinai Venkatesham quits his role in European Club Association board after Super League confirmation

Vinai Venkatesham has left his role in the European Club Association (ECA) board after Arsenal’s involvement in the Super League.

The Arsenal CEO was only appointed into the council last month but has had to walk away after the Gunners agreed to create a new breakaway league to compete with UEFA.

As a result, the Gunners have also left the ECA – which is comprised of the 200 biggest European clubs and serves in the best interest of all of them.

It’s said that this move is to further force the fact that the founding members of the Super League are serious about getting away with this separate competition.

Arsenal have already been warned that they will be banned from playing in the Premier League and UEFA competitions if they actually go through with their participation in this competition.
