"I read the rumours with Arsenal and wrote him a few messages right away," Bernd Leno told Sport1 when asked about rumours linking the Gunners with Julian Brandt, as quoted by Sport Witness.
"But I don’t know what is really there. In any case, I would be happy if he would come.
"Jule is a good friend, we had a very good time in Leverkusen and privately we were often out for one or two beers.
"Maybe we can experience that again in the future. He’s also invited to my wedding, which unfortunately couldn’t take place this year. We will make up for that next year."
Brandt, who was teammates with Leno at Bayer Leverkusen, is currently at Borussia Dortmund. The playmaker has had a rather disappointing season, registering just 5 goal contributions (3 goals and 2 assists) in 30 Bundesliga appearances.
Julian has been linked with Arsenal for a few years now. A couple of weeks ago the Brandt–Arsenal link reemerged, with Bild suggesting that the Gunners consider the 25-year-old as a cheaper alternative to Martin Odegaard.
