'I was very disappointed when Martinez went': Seaman urges Arsenal to keep Leno as club plan to sign new keeper this summer

“I’d be disappointed if Leno leaves. I’m asking myself: ‘Why’s he going?’ He’s been there a long time and been pretty consistent,” David Seaman told TalkSPORT.

“Do I think Ramsdale would be good? Yeah, he’s a quality goalkeeper – he’s in the England frame – but I’d want both of them there.

“I was very disappointed when [Emi] Martinez went [to Aston Villa] as we need two quality goalkeepers at the club to test each other.

“They let him go and there was no real pressure on [Leno]. Getting other goalkeepers is good but if that’s at the price of a top international goalkeeper, I’m not too sure.”

A few months ago, Leno hinted that open to a new challenge. At the moment, Bernd hasn't said anything definite on his future as he's focused on representing Germany at Euro 2020.

Arsenal are considering Andre Onana, Matt Ryan and Aaron Ramsdale as candidates to strengthen the goalkeeper position. However, the Gunners have not made a formal yet.
