When asked about why he didn’t pick Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus for Brazil’s upcoming friendly games against Ghana and Tunisia, Tite said: “Gabriel Jesus is in a great moment and running, yes. Absolutely, yes. This call-up served to give opportunities to others.
“I already have his portrait in the national team and in the club and now I give opportunities to others.”
With this, the Brazilian gaffer confirms that he didn’t pick Jesus to give him extra rest during the upcoming international break. Arsenal stars Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Magalhaes were also snubbed from the squad.
Mikel Arteta will probably be delighted to see neither of his Brazilian stars selected by the national team as it reduces the risk of them picking up injuries during the friendly games.
