'We need Arsenal journos to lift this in the media': fans believe Bukayo Saka needs more protection from referees

Bukayo Saka had to leave the pitch with a knock at the weekend after getting a rough treatment from Nottingham Forest players.

And Arsenal supporters believe that the 21-year-old needs to be protected by the referees if he's to avoid a serious injury in the future.

Aszneeee (via /r/Gunners): "Just give him same treatment as Kane and he's safe and will never pick any card."

Phantasm_Agoric: "I don't get how letting teams kick the s**t out of creative players so nobody can put together a coherent attack is 'letting the game flow'. Surely disincentivising breaking up play with continuous fouls is 'letting it flow?'

dont_dm_nudes: "Thing is, we need all the Arsenal journos to lift this in the media. The refs have decided that he is a diver, we need to push the agenda that he is targeted."

eagleslanding: "Honestly, we should just focus on reminding them that he's English. Everyone knows Kane is a dirty player and a diver, but he gets away with it because he's English. We just need to play that reverse uno card."

SoyCapitan451: "Saka doesn't need special treatment to be saved. Refs just need to do their job properly."

anotherMrLizard: "Part of the problem is that English refs seem to have bought in wholesale to this idiotic notion — ubiquitous among the football media and pundit class — that the referee is somehow part of the entertainment and it's his job to allow the game to 'flow', rather than to enforce the rules of the game fairly and consistently."
