Saliba to finally make World Cup debut as France smash records

William Saliba could finally make his World Cup debut for France in their final group game against Tunisia. Les Bleus are already guaranteed a place in the knockout round following a 2-1 victory over Denmark.

France became the first defending champions to reach the last-16 since the 1998 edition. They are also the first side to win six consecutive games in the tournament since Spain in 2010.

Saliba was an unused substitute in the wins over Australia and the Danes. Dayot Upamecano, Ibrahima Kanote and Raphael Varane have been preferred at centre-back.

With Didier Deschamps likely to rest some of his players for the final tie, the Arsenal star could benefit. Saliba started all of Arsenal's Premier League games. He's been capped seven times by France.
