Gabriel and Saliba have started all Arsenal's Premier League games this season, helping them to the top of the table.

The Gunners have shipped in just 14 goals, only Newcastle United (11) have been better defensively.

“It is better when you have the pressure at the top than down. It is better like this,” explained William Saliba to talkSPORT while discussing Manchester United's sudden emergence under Erik ten Hag. 

“We don’t have to have pressure, we have a big game next week. They are the only team to beat us in the Premier League and we want to beat them again at home.

“We will prepare for this game very good and we will win in front of our fans.”

Arsenal lost to United at Old Trafford earlier this season but will have a chance for revenge when they travel to the Emirates. 

The Gunners maintain a healthy lead at the top of the table as Mikel Arteta and co refuse to give up on the title charge. 

Saliba provides positive update on contract talks with Arsenal

 contract renewal: “I am so happy here. The club is speaking with my agent and me. The only thing I can do right now is focus on my football. I am so happy here.”

On being league leaders, he added: “There’s no pressure because we play for that. It’s better to have this pressure when you are at the top than when you are down at the bottom. We are focused on ourselves, we are not focused on our rivals. We have to keep going like this.”

Ahead of the clash with United, he said: “We know we have a big game this week [vs. Man Utd]. We know they beat us, they are the only team to beat us this season in the Premier League & we want to beat them again at home. We will prepare very good I think & I hope we will win in front of our fans.”

Saliba has started all of the Gunners' league games this season. He is expected to extend his stay at the club beyond 2024.
