Fabrizio Romano: Arsenal start talks to sign Real Valladolid right-back Fresneda

Arsenal have started talks with Real Valladolid over the potential signing of Ivan Fresneda in the January transfer window, claims Fabrizio Romano.

The Gunners have been scouting the young right-back for quite some time and are eyeing him as a replacement for Cedric Soares – who looks set on joining Fulham.

There are discussions going on between the clubs over a potential fee, while the Gunners are also speaking to his agents.

Arsenal face tough competition as Romano adds that three or four more clubs are eager to sign him in January.

The Gunners will have to act quickly to get the deal done and add more competition to the right-back spot.

Ben White and Takehiro Tomiyasu have both done great work covering the role this season, but Mikel Arteta seems eager to sign another one to strengthen that area even more.

Fresneda has made 13 appearances for Valladolid, with his performances this season catching the attention of many clubs.
