Next season, Mikel Arteta might have a few more squad options after some of the loanees return to the club.
Here are the 10 players Arsenal have loaned out, as per Transfermarkt:
- Nicolas Pepe (Nice)
- Folarin Balogun (Reims)
- Marquinhos (Norwich)
- Pablo Mari (Monza)
- Cedric Soares (Fulham)
Some of these players should have a future at Arsenal. Balogun who has scored 15 goals in Ligue 1 for Reims is one of them, while Marquinhos is another - even though he might require another loan after his current spell at Norwich.
Others appear to be certainly on their way out. It's hard to see Pepe, Mari, Soares or Runarsson back in the team. Maitland-Niles's contract with Arsenal expires in June, so he's likely to leave as well.
Lokonga and Tavares are tricky cases. Both are 23-year-olds with potential who don't seem to fit in Arteta's vision. There could be demand for them on the market.
Finally, there's a wildcard: Auston Trusty is an American centre-back signed last January who is currently on loan at Birmingham and is yet to feature for Arsenal. He's a regular starter for the Championship side but Arsenal's plan for him is unclear.
