'Top captain': Odegaard praised for one decision before Gabriel Jesus' penalty v Leeds

Martin Odegaard embodied Arsenal's team spirit with a class act before Gabriel Jesus' penalty in the 4-1 win against Leeds.

Jesus won the penalty in the 34th minute and slotted home to score his first goal since October after returning from injury last month.

The Brazilian was given the opportunity to take the penalty by Odegaard who handed Jesus the ball before the kick was taken. Many thought the Arsenal skipper would take the penalty.

However, the Norwegian only threw himself into the mix to prevent mind games from affecting Jesus. The Brazilian didn't disappoint. Football lovers have praised Odegaard for this singular act.

Gravity Gooner: "Odegaard handing the ball shows levels of class that a lot of people will not understand. Odegaard has shown to be a great penalty taker especially after that amazing one against Sporting but was quick to hand the ball over to Jesus to boost his confidence. Jesus scores another."

Leyla Ahmed: "You have to love Martin Odegaard. Top class player and captain, giving that penalty to Gabriel Jesus was a selfless and class act."

The Emperor: "Odegaard handing the ball to Gabby Jesus for the penalty was top tier maturity. Top captain for a top club".

Davy Kavanzi: "Love that Odegaard let Jesus have that penalty to build his confidence ... man's officially back".

John D Barker: "Jesus has needed that, and Odegaard giving him the penalty is what a good captain does. Getting him back up and running is going to be so necessary. Let's go."

The Short Fuse: "Odegaard was holding the ball to pass it off to Gabriel Jesus for the penalty."
