Will Arsenal buy a new striker to compete with Jesus? Answered

A lot of Arsenal fans have started calling upon the club to invest in a new striker next season to compete with Gabriel Jesus.

The Athletic’s David Ornstein addressed questions around the Gunners’ chances of investing in a new forward, as he told the Vibe with Five podcast: “I don’t hear big suggestions that they are going to be bringing in a striker.

“I think they’re focused on those other positions (a defender, a midfielder, possibly a winger). There was a report in The Times suggesting they may be able to make about £100m (in sales).

“So with Champions League revenues, with the existing commitment of the Kroenkes, who have put their money where their mouths are, with potential sales, then it could be a really big summer of investment.”

Ornstein also indicated that Arsenal giving a new contract to Eddie Nketiah further indicates that they trust him to compete with Jesus for the centre-forward role.

The Gunners appear to have other places in the team to improve, which includes the midfield and defence.
