Arsenal are still very confident of their ability to win the race to sign West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice in the summer, confirms Fabrizio Romano.
This comes amid claims from West Ham insider Claret & Hugh that the English midfielder’s agent recently had talks with Man United over a transfer.
Romano claims that the Gunners are being patient with the deal and want to wait until after the UEFA Europa Conference League final before discussing the move with West Ham.
He said on his YouTube channel: “Arsenal still feel confident on this deal. Arsenal are having conversations on this deal because they want Rice, he’s the priority target for the club.
“There is one important thing to say that Arsenal, after the Conference League final, they will submit a proposal to West Ham. This is the feeling. Why after the final? To respect West Ham, they know that nothing will happen before the Conference League final, so it makes no sense to negotiate now.”
Rice still remains Arsenal’s priority target for the summer and a player for whom they’re ready to break their transfer record for.
