Fabrizio Romano reveals when Arsenal plan to extend Martin Odegaard's contract

Arsenal are in no real rush to hand Martin Odegaard a new contract, claims Fabrizio Romano.

He wrote on his CaughtOffside column: “A new round of talks are planned between the club and Martin Ødegaard’s representatives concerning a new deal for the Gunners captain.

“There’s no rush as the player is very happy in London and both parties are keen to reach an agreement. The aim will be to get the new deal done later this year.”

Odegaard’s current contract runs until 2025, which is perhaps why there is no real rush among the Gunners to hand him a new deal.

However, the Arsenal captain will be given a new bumper contract with increased wages after impressing last season in the Premier League – where he scored 15 goals and provided 8 assists for the Gunners.
