Arsenal's new corner routine to break stubborn teams - explained with 5 images

Arsenal picked up a hard-fought win over Everton on Sunday, their first in six years at Goodison Park.

Leandro Trossard scored the only goal from a corner-kick after some quick interchanges in the box.

To achieve this, the Gunners made use of a new routine. "There are ways, different ways to attack, different ways to try to take advantage of an opponent’s weaknesses," Mikel Arteta said.

"And obviously, they are really strong in the box and you need alternatives and we found a way to open it up."

This system involves an Arsenal player passing the corner kick short to a teammate who then finds another and another in quick succession.

To do this effectively, Arteta's men have to flood their opponent's box. The only disadvantage, however, is that they could be caught with a counterattack.

Good strategy to open up opponents defence but then you keep these strategies to yourselves and not to sell out for other teams to find a solution to it. My sports administration take.

well it's already out even before he says it because every game is analysed and opponents use that to plan so unless arsenal change tactics game by game

Arteta once said he uses over 40 different formations in a game , so it’s practically impossible for them to defend various types of attacks .

just explain our tactics and bring it to the whole world's attention so they prepare for the situation and block it why not !! some things don't need explaining to the rest of world.

Great idea. Arsenal could take 10 corner kicks in a single game without scoring a goal. They need to work on goal scoring from corner kicks.
