Arsenal 'not hell-bent' on signing new no. 9 this summer

Benjamin Sesko has rejected Arsenal and decided to stay at Leipzig for another season, it has been reported earlier today.

The Mirror claim that landing a proven, world-class no. 9 is 'not the be-all and end-all' for the Gunners this summer. They wanted the Slovenian and he would have picked them had he decided to leave Leipzig — but his rejection is not the end of the world for Arsenal.

Arsenal keep track of Alexander Isak, Viktor Gyokeres and Victor Osimhen but signing a striker is not something the club is 'hell-bent on' this window.

This is because the Gunners are not willing to overspend on the position in which they have Kai Havertz, who hit impressive form in the no. 9 role towards the end of the 2023/24 season.
