13 things to know about Chelsea's reported target Luka Waldschmidt

The Freiburg revelation has first caught the eye last year at the Euro U-21, scoring 7 goals in 4 games.
Even though Germany lost to Italy in the Euro U-21 final, Luka managed to outscore every other player by at least 3 goals.
He went on to earn two senior caps for Joachim Low's team.
Waldschmidt comes from the footballing family, he's a son of former Darmstadt player Wolfgang and we can say that football is in his blood.
Luka started off his career at SSV Oranien Frohnhausen at the tender age of five.
He went on to join Frankfurt's youth academy in 2010, signing his first professional contract in April 2014.
In 2018 Waldschmidt joined Freiburg for five million euros.
Waldschmidt had just two Bundesliga goals in his two senior seasons but enjoyed a breakthrough in the 2018/29 campaign, scoring 9 games.
Luka is known for his hold-up play and a killer of a left foot.
Bundesliga's official website have already compared the 23-year-old to Lukas Podolski.
The comparison, however, runs even deeper: "Due to his low centre of gravity and ability on the ball, the Freiburg forward is often seen dropping deep to pick up the ball away from the opposition defence."
Freiburg coach Christian Streich is also quite vocal about Waldschmidt's talents: "He has good movement, good passing and is versatile."
At 5'9", Waldschmidt couldn't offer the same aerial coverage but his link-up play may well be what Lampard is seeking in the striker.
