Everything you need to know ahead of Champions League Round of 16 draw

When is the draw?

The Champions League draw for the Last 16 will take place later today (Monday) after the group stage games ended last week.

The draw will happen in the UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland from 11.00 GMT (UK time).

What's the story so far?

Chelsea comfortably topped their group in the competition, finishing on 14 points from 6 games - 1 ahead of Sevilla.

Big wins against Rennes (twice), Krasnodar, and Sevilla helped Frank Lampard's men to easy qualification.

How does the draw work?

All teams are divided into 2 pots - Seeded teams who won their groups and unseeded teams who finished 2nd.

In the Round of 16, teams from the same groups cannot face each other, nor can teams from the same country.

The seeded teams will play the second legs of their last 16 ties at home.

Who could Chelsea face?

These are the eligible 2nd place teams Chelsea can potentially draw: Atletico Madrid, Borussia Monchengladbach, Porto, Atalanta, Lazio, Barcelona, RB Leipzig.
