"Sections of the Madrid media (Marca here) portraying Real Madrid as plucky underdogs ahead of the Champions League semi-finals and now calling for fair play from UEFA referees (after the Super League fallout) in their tie against Chelsea is quite something..." Real Madrid will host Chelsea in the Champions League semi-final first leg on Tuesday. As things stand now, the Whites haven't withdrawn from the European Super League, unlike the Blues.
Hayward and another journalist Sam Street went on to echo a pro-Madrid TV programme El Chiringuito whose presenter predicted the referee to give two penalties to Chelsea on Tuesday as UEFA's response to Real's ESL stance.
"Chiringuito said last week that there would be two penalties to Chelsea," Street wrote.
To which Hayward replied: "Their presenter *warned* that RM would be in for it against Chelsea after Barca's women were denied two penalties against PSG!"
