Yaya Toure's agent: 'I’m sure African shamans won't let Guardiola win Champions League for how he treated Yaya'
Ahead of the Champions League final which comes up in a few hours, comments by Yaya Toure's agent Dmitri Seluk back in 2018 have been brought to light.
Yaya's agent was disappointed about his client being benched by Pep Guardiola in his final season at the club.
"He [Guardiola] turned all Africa against himself, many African fans turned away from Manchester City. And I’m sure that many African shamans in the future will not allow Guardiola to win the Champions League, Seluk said.
"This will be for Guardiola an African curse. Life will show whether I am right or not.”
“The fact that Guardiola ended Yaya’s career in Manchester City is not even a mistake, but a crime. But the boomerang will return, Pep. You will still see what the African shamans are. Remember this always," Seluk added.
Guardiola is yet to win the Champions League since lifting the title a decade ago with Barcelona.
The Catalan leads Manchester City to their first-ever Champions League final appearance against the Blues in Portugal.
This is also Guardiola's first Champions League final appearance as a manager since leaving Barca.
