  • Mason became the first Englishman to assist a goal in the UCL final since it was last done in 2008.
  • Fabregas was all praises for the Chelsea star – lauding him for the accuracy of his pass splitting open Man City’s defence and allowing Havertz to score.

After watching Mason Mount’s assist for Kai Havertz’s goal vs Man City, Cesc Fabregas tweeted: “What a ball!! @masonmount_10 that’s what I’m talking about!”

Mount produced an amazing assist to set up Havertz’s match-winning goal – producing a fantastic through ball which Fabregas must’ve been proud of.

The 22-year-old Chelsea star also became the first English player to register an assist in a Champions League final since Wes Brown last did so for Man United in the 2008 UCL final vs Chelsea.

Mount also created a total of 3 goal-scoring chances on Saturday – one more than what Man City’s entire team could manage.
