Chelsea have been scouting Sassuolo midfielder Manuel Locatelli who has become a revelation at Euro 2020 with Italy, Fabrizio Romano reports.
The 23-year-old hit the headlines after scoring a brace in a 3-0 win over Switzerland on Wednesday, but he has been highlighted as one of the most promising midfielders in Europe for quite a bit longer.
The elegant playmaker has been with Sassuolo for three years and, according to the source, is poised for a move this summer.
Romano adds that other Premier League clubs, including Arsenal and Man City, have been monitoring Locatelli, as well as sides from Spain and Germany.
However, the likeliest destination for the midfielder is Juventus who are negotiating with Sassuolo a possible swap deal. At the moment, however, the price for Locatelli is €40m.
