Kovacic takes up new squad number
Chelsea have announced squad numbers for this season. Mateo Kovacic changed his previous No. 17 to No. 8, Ruben Loftus-Cheek takes back his No. 12 shirt, and new signing Bettinelli takes up No. 13.
Lukaku's squad number has not been announced, although it was previously leaked.
Chelsea players nominated for UEFA awards
Mendy has been nominated for the UEFA goalkeeper of the year award. Rudiger, Azpilicueta will compete for the defender of the year award, while Kante and Jorginho are in running for the midfielder in the year award.
Lukaku agent reveals death threats
"Many of those who today insult me and threaten me, thanked me wholeheartedly for bringing him to Milan,", Romelu Lukaku's agent, said in a statement quoted by the BBC.
"What we absolutely cannot tolerate are the falsehoods, insinuations, insults and threats we have received [also against my family and my daughters], which have far exceeded the limits of civilisation, decency and tolerance.
"The economic aspect is a detail, but it is not the main factor that determines our choices and those of our clients."
Lukaku's first club shares touching video
Anderlecht, the club where Romelu Lukaku started his professional career, shared a touching video of the striker when he was young.
He spoke of his desire to play for Chelsea on his visit to Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea offered Lewandowski before Lukaku move
According to Bild, Lewandowski's agent Pini Zahavi offered his client to Chelsea.
He suggested the Blues sign him for €80m, a proposal Chelsea turned down as they did not want to spend this amount of money on the 32-year-old.
Same old Arsenal
The Gunners started their Premier League campaign with a 2-0 defeat against competition debutants Brentford. Their last season's struggles continue.
And Chelsea will face Arsenal next week. A field day for Lukaku incoming!
