Pundit Paul Merson praises Chelsea's move for Saul

Chelsea signed Saul Niguez on deadline day, fending off competition from both Manchester United and Liverpool, who were interested.

"Chelsea now have a midfield dreams are made of after getting Saul Niguez on deadline day," Merson wrote in his Daily Star column.

"What a phenomenal signing that is. He is in his prime. He has just won La Liga. He plays in all the big games. And you get him on loan. That’s amazing.

"He is only going to cost £30million if they make it permanent as well. Where do you ever find players like that for that kind of money? Amazing."

Christensen, Kovacic and Gilmour impress in international wins

Chelsea loanee Billy Gilmour played 73 minutes and was crucial to the side as Scotland beat Moldova 1-0.

Mateo Kovacic helped Croatia to the same scoreline against a dogged Slovakia side with a composed display deep in the midfield.

Andreas Christensen was a rock for Denmark as they beat the Faroe Islands making it a great night for Blues on international duty.

Mount calls for FIFA to ban supporters that racially abused England players

England played Hungary at the Puskas Arena, where the likes of Jude Bellingham and Raheem Sterling were subjected to racist chants.

“We obviously have had it in the past and it is a disgrace how it keeps on happening," Mount said as reported by Football London.

“Consequences need to take place and the FA will be speaking to FIFA about it. Hopefully it keeps getting put to them and they hand out bans but it needs to stop and we need to get this out of football.”
