Roman Abramovich makes rare trip back to UK, 'could visit Chelsea' while in London

Roman Abramovich has made a rare trip back to the United Kingdom, the Chelsea owner's representative has confirmed to The Independent.

The Russian-Israeli businessman has travelled to London to see his relatives.

The newspaper claims that Abramovich 'could visit Chelsea' while he's in the country. It does not specify whether it means going to a game, visiting the training ground, or both.

The club owner has not been at Stamford Bridge since 2018 due to his visa dispute with the UK. He does not need a visa to travel to London now as he has become an Israeli citizen.

It does not mean he's staying away from Chelsea, though: the club made major investments in the squad over the last year or so, with the improved team winning the Champions League in 2021.

Abramovich was in Porto for Chelsea's win over Man City in the final, as well as in Baku for the Blues' triumph over Arsenal in the Europa League final in 2019.
