Thomas Tuchel reveals person behind game-changing tactical tweak at half-time

Chelsea's only goal in their 1-0 win over Malmo was partly a result of a tactical change the Blues made at half-time.

Callum Hudson-Odoi and Hakim Ziyech switched wings and as a result, the youngster found the Moroccan in the box with a pinpoint delivery from the right flank.

"All the credit to my assistant Arno [Michels]. He had the idea at half-time. We liked it," Tuchel said afterwards.

"We had the feeling when we enter into the space behind the back five we maybe lose some important seconds when Hakim has to switch the ball back on his left foot, and Callum has to switch back on his right foot, and the number eight was closing space.

"We thought maybe we could save a second or a tenth of a second, and we had a breakthrough on the half-position.

"Callum could deliver precisely, it was a good ball in, and I’m happy."

Chelsea are now just one point away from securing a place in the Round of 16. In the next game, they play host to group leaders Juventus before a visit to Zenit St.Petersburg.
