Michels shares worrying update on Mount after forced sub v Plymouth

"He felt an injury in extra time with this shot," Chelsea assistant manager Arno Michels said of Mason Mount.

"He realised quick he felt pain and so we took him off. There will be further exams.

"Hopefully, it's not too bad but I can't promise what the situation is."

Mase was pulled off seven minutes into extra time of the Plymouth game, with Saul replacing him.

He went straight into the tunnel after the substitution as he apparently suffered a knock.

Mount was among Chelsea's best players today. Losing him through injury would be a huge blow.

The Blues defeated Plymouth in extra time thanks to Marcos Alonso's goal.
