Roman Abramovich has effectively put Chelsea up for sale by inviting potential suitors to make bids, The Telegraph reports.
One of the potential buyers is known to be Swiss billionaire Hansjorg Wyss who has confirmed an approach.
He and at least two other suitors have been contacted by an American-based merchant bank that claims to be in charge of the sale.
They are led to believe that Abramovich wants around £4 billion for Chelsea. It's claimed, however, that he should only expect bids around £2 billion.
Chelsea have not responded to The Telegraph on the report or the claims made by Wyss.
Roman Abramovich is under threat of being sanctioned by the UK due to his alleged links with Vladimir Putin who ordered the Russian troops to invade Ukraine.
