Kepa Arrizabalaga is one of the goalkeepers Newcastle are seriously considering for the next season, the Daily Mail claims.
Of course, the Saudi-backed project has plenty of money, but they don't want to overspend. That's why they're more likely to offer a loan deal for Kepa whose contract with Chelsea expires in 2025.
It's not guaranteed that the Spaniard will be the player Newcastle will go for: their shortlist also includes the likes of Dean Henderson, Bernd Leno and Sam Johnstone.
According to previous reports, Chelsea are willing to consider moving Kepa on, as his £145,000-per-week salary is a bit too much for a second-choice keeper.
At the same time, they must understand that it would be impossible for them to recoup the £72 million transfer fee they paid to Athletic Bilbao in 2018, and it might be their time to merely cut their losses. It's not clear how a loan to Newcastle would help them.
As for Kepa himself, he'd reportedly be prepared top move on if he was going to become a starter elsewhere.
