Chelsea are planning to sign two centre-backs this summer, Fabrizio Romano has reported.
The Blues have been linked with several defenders, including Matthijs de Ligt and Jules Kounde. Romano does not name names but confirms Chelsea's general idea during this transfer window.
At the same time, they are yet to make a decision on the future of Levi Colwill, one of the breakout stars in the Championship last season.
The left-footed centre-back, 19, attracts a lot of interest from the Premier League clubs who want to sign him on a permanent deal.
Leicester, Crystal Palace, Brighton and Nottingham Forest have all enquired about Colwill.
The Chelsea academy graduate could be the natural replacement for Antonio Rudiger on the left of the back three - but that is only if he impresses Thomas Tuchel enough during the pre-season.
