Sterling 7, Batshuayi 5.5: rating Chelsea players in Charlotte loss

The Moroccan forward was the one to lead Chelsea's attack in the first half. Ziyech dropped deep to receive the ball and looked to create danger either through his passes or his shots from the distance. Unfortunately, his efforts were not enough to create a goal.

Pulisic scored our only goal of the game as he brilliantly chipped the goalkeeper after picking up the ball inside the penalty box. The American made a few more good runs, but that was about it.

Kenedy - 7.5

One of the few bright spots in the second half, the wingback was a constant threat on the flank. Kenedy create two chances thanks to his crosses and a left a good impression overall. Decent defensive output as well.

Emerson - 7.5

The Italy international got to play as a left centre-back and, despite playing out of position, did a good job. Emerson impressed the fans through his good vertical passing and defensive composure.

The Chelsea debutant had 45 minutes today, and we did see a few glimpses of his quality. Sterling made a few brilliant runs but wasn't always picked by his teammates - that will require time. Raheem could have even scored on his debut, but his shot at the near post got saved.

The striker didn't look in tune with the rest of the team. Batshuayi's shots were either off target, blocked, or too weak to pose any threat. Michy also missed a clear one-on-one, once again emphasising our problem with finishing.

Others
