'Can't lead the attack': Fan uses Griezmann, Muller example to show how Havertz isn't suited for Chelsea's system

Chelsea are reportedly not looking to sign a central striker this summer. The most likely scenario for next season is that we will see Kai Havertz as the starting striker in most games, taking on the No.9 role.

However, Havertz has scored only 23 goals for the Blues over two seasons and doesn't seem to have the natural finishing ability of a striker.

Chelsea fan and Reddit user JDY11 breaks down why Havertz is not suited to work in a system like Chelsea's: "As much as people don't want to hear it, Havertz is a player in the mould of a Dele Alli, Antoine Griezmann etc where their best attribute is movement and getting goals playing off a striker.

"It's not a surprise that when the goals dry up for these players you're left wondering what they are actually bringing to the team.

"It's also not a surprise that these players careers (Dele, Griez) have fallen off a cliff when they're not scoring as much, the teams they have played for declining overall and in terms of creativity have a direct correlation. Their level drops to their team's level, and vice versa.

"In Havertz's case, I'm pretty sure if you stuck him in Bayern's team in Thomas Muller's place he'd look class.

"But he doesn't have the attributes to carry a lesser team like us surrounded by average attackers. Very much a cherry on top the cake type of player who belongs in an already complete team."
