'This pains me too much': Fans are unhappy over one deadline day saga - it's not about Edson Alvarez

Chelsea signed Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Denis Zakaria on the final day of the transfer window and missed out on Edson Alvarez, who wanted to join the Blues.

However, a significant sale took place amid all the madness as Billy Gilmour was sold to Brighton on a permanent deal.

Zakaria's arrival does help given that the Alvarez deal could not be completed, but Gilmour, who has been a fan favourite here, is certainly a huge loss for some supporters.

Here is how they reacted to this news:

Chelseanuts1: "A very sad day - Billy Gilmour is still young and sucking in the knowledge, but even now can position & anticipate the play of a game better than most! I wish you all the success in the world at BHA just a shame you have gone and not Joke5!"

Sulemain S: "Here goes another excellent Cobham talent who will certainly thrive under a new manager with less pressure. We keep repeating the same mistakes over and over. Tomori, Tammy, Guehi, the saga continues."

Forever Blue: "I never wished Billy to leave us. I can foresee him blossoming big time at BHA. I hope we will not go chasing his signature again after a few seasons."

naavits: "ffs Tuchel is fully to blame. He took the call to sell Gilmour. I can see that he didn't excel on the loan spell but man have some heart, at least make a loan. Watch him own teams away from Chelsea now."

Bernard Michael: "TT should bow down his head in Shame, at least let him go another loan. keeping him and selling him on deadline day. Ahhhh, the way this transfer has pain me. Naturally, Gilmour is good..."

chelseafan27: "This move pains me a lot, can't believe we did this. If I see Tuchel on the street he will have to answer me on this"
