An Adam Newson report claimed that Todd Boehly wants to put an end to Chelsea's system of buying players only to send them on endless loans.
It's not clear what the new owner wants to do with the current Chelsea players who are currently on loan. Most of them will probably be sold.
The indication that their Chelsea future will come to an end soon is already there, with the club terminating the contracts of Barkley and Batshuayi. Under the previous regime, these players would have probably been sent out on loan.
So we have calculated the amount of money the Blues would get for selling the current loan army, using Transfermarkt's players value.
There are currently 21 players on loan, excluding new signing Gabriel Slonina*. Their market value is €153.75m.
The most expensive player is obviously Romelu Lukaku, valued at €70m. He is followed by Callum Hudson-Odoi (€25m) and Ethan Ampadu (€13m). They are followed by Tiemoue Bakayoko and Levi Colwill, both valued at €10m.
*Note: Gabriel Slonina is technically a part of the 'loan army' as he's with Chicago Fire on loan. But the goalkeeper is very unlikely to be sold as Chelsea have bought him just a few weeks ago.
