Graham Potter was viewed as a left-field choice for the Chelsea job after Thomas Tuchel's sacking.
Despite an admirable job he did at Brighton, Potter's lack of track record at the top level could've been seen as an obstacle - but it was not by Todd Boehly who gave the new coach a five-year deal.
We can't predict what happens at Chelsea by 2027. However, Reddit user PavelNedved_ wondered what we should expect from Potter's Chelsea in the next couple of years - and the answers are telling.
CopiumFC: "Retaining European places in the Premier League standings. Knockout stages of UCL or UEL. If they fall into the UECL it has to be a win. A domestic cup would be great."
alphadist: "FA cup seems reasonable. Knockout stages of UCL is a spot for the top managers in the world, and we just haven't seen Potter's track record at that level"
v_for__vegeta: "Realistically, don’t see us anywhere near challenging for the title. Top 4 finishes would be good. Maybe a domestic cup. We’ve lost that edge in CL that Tuchel brought. Europe is a different animal and I’m not convinced that Potter is ready for it."
