Graham Potter slammed for building 'worst Chelsea team in 10 years'

"They’ve lost their way slightly," ex-Chelsea forward Tony Cascarino said on talkSPORT after the Blues' defeat to Newcastle.

"They don’t look like scoring goals in the centre-forward position, but I can’t believe how many players are playing so poorly for Chelsea. That is what’s really surprising.

"What I’m watching now is probably the worst Chelsea team that they’ve had over the last 10 years because I really don’t know what they’re about.

"No one looks like scoring on a regular basis. Let’s take the last three Premier League games. Your centre-forward against Brighton was [Kai] Havertz and they lost 4-1.

"The centre-forward against Arsenal at Stamford Bridge was [Pierre-Emerick] Aubameyang and they lost 1-0. Against Newcastle it was [Armando] Broja.

"So in the last three Premier League games they’ve had a different striker so that rings alarm bell immediately. That is a real problem to have as a manager."

Chelsea have won only six out of 14 Premier League games this season so far and are winless in five.

Graham Potter will certainly welcome the opportunity to work with those players who are not travelling to the World Cup as the season comes to a halt until Boxing Day.
