Raheem Sterling started his Qatar World Cup campaign off to a smashing start, scoring and assisting for England in their 6-2 win over Iran.
The Chelsea forward looked a great fit for Gareth Southgate’s system and it’s clear the poor form at the club level didn’t bring him down.
Sterling was initially starting as a left-winger, but moved into a more central area to play just behind Harry Kane in what resembled a two-man frontline.
This has gotten some Chelsea fans to believe Graham Potter should change his position. Conn tweeted: “If you play Sterling in and around the box, he will get you goals. It's that simple man.”
The Blues can possibly give Sterling this change, as he could play just behind Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to get more involved in the attacking moves.
That would, however, need Potter to change to a four-man backline.
It would also require Ben Chilwell to play almost as a left-winger and for the midfielders to cover his role. This is what Chelsea can look like by giving Sterling a free role in and around the box.
