Chelsea have no plans to sign Ronaldo - The Telegraph (reliability: 5 stars)

Chelsea have no plans to sign Cristiano Ronaldo, The Telegraph's Matt Law reports.

The 37-year-old has been released by Man United as a free agent after an explosive interview with Piers Morgan in which he criticised Erik ten Hag, the club owners and even some of the players.

Chelsea discussed the possibility of signing Ronaldo in the summer when first reports emerged that he wanted to leave United.

Co-owner Todd Boehly was keen on the idea, but then-head coach Thomas Tuchel was against it.

With Tuchel replaced by Graham Potter since then, it's been speculated that Chelsea could renew their interest in the Portuguese. However, they are focusing on other targets instead.

The Blues have already all but secured a move for RB Leipzig forward Christopher Nkunku. Otherwise, their focus will be on strengthening the defence and midfield.
