After the 2-0 defeat against the Netherlands, rumours have emerged that Edouard Mendy will lose his place between the posts for the Senegal national team.
When asked about it at a press conference, Senegal boss Aliou Cisse strongly denied this.
"Edouard is doing very well, he has a steel resolve," Cisse said, as per the Daily Mail.
"We chatted about the game. Edouard's qualities speak for themselves. He has had highs and lows but he has my blind trust. He will be on the pitch."
Mendy was at least partially to blame for both of the goals the Netherlands scored to take three points against a strong side.
Now, Senegal are facing Qatar in the second game at the tournament, and they have a good chance to bounce back ahead of a crucial game against Ecuador in four days' time.
