Billy Gilmour reportedly unwanted by Brighton just months after Stamford Bridge exit - Chelsea fans react

Billy Gilmour was one of the brightest players in the Chelsea academy. Despite a small frame, the Scottish player had an excellent Premier League debut, bossing the Liverpool midfield.

A few years and an unspectacular loan spell later, Gilmour was sold to Graham Potter's Brighton - just a few weeks before the head coach went in the opposite direction.

Now, the 21-year-old is reportedly set to leave Brighton. According to reporter Matteo Moretto, he will be allowed to go in January, with several Spanish clubs interested.

Gilmour is no longer attached to Chelsea, but his fate is still a big talking point among the Blues' fans on Reddit.

vinnyv91: "Big blow to the 'Brighton will make Chelsea regret this' crowd"

Funky_Pigeon911: "One of my favourite recent memories of Chelsea was him bossing the Liverpool game whilst Frank was our manager. He clearly has talent, just needs to learn the best way to utilize his talent and make up for his obvious weaknesses."

ubertraquer: "People were saying he would start immediately for Brighton when he could barely get into a dreadful Norwich squad."

happysrooner: "A victim of bad loans and incredibly unlucky circumstances. Whichever football brain decided to send him to Norwich needs to get disowned. Hope he gets a decent career move."

jam66611: "Talented, and a shame to see it not work out, but his frame and style was always going to struggle in the Prem, especially if a side isn't focused around him to enhance/cover his strengths/weaknesses. Only 21 though, so still plenty of time for him."

Nasty133: "Billy about to turn into Billy 'Xavi' Gilmour after a year in Spain"

thwgrandpigeon: "As a fan of him under Lampard, I'd be 100% supportive of this outcome. I really want the guy to turn out well."
