Wesley Fofana has missed the World Cup and a number of Chelsea games due to injury in the first half of the season. Graham Potter had earlier stated that his knee is not as bad as initially anticipated.
Injury expert Ben Dinnery told Give Me Sport that the player can be expected to return soon.
"He was another one, the defender was probably touch and go on his availability for France.
“It would have been a gamble for Didier Deschamps to include him, and ultimately, they have quite a bit of strength in depth in that department as well, and the decision was probably made on the strength of that.
“But in terms of his availability for Chelsea, we would expect him to be back and fully integrated within that mini pre-season programme and, once those Premier League fixtures resume, he should be pushing and back in contention for the Blues.”
