Inter open new Lukaku loan talks but there's a catch Blues may not like (reliability: 3 stars)

Inter Milan have opened negotiations with Chelsea to extend Romelu Lukaku's loan for a further season, Sport Mediaset reports. The striker's current loan expires next summer.

The news would be welcomed by many Chelsea fans who don't want the Belgian to return to the club. However, there's a catch: Inter want to pay a lower loan fee than €8m they paid for this season's loan.

Inter argue that Lukaku's injury problems that restricted him to just a few appearances this season see his value drop.

Chelsea don't want to keep the striker but it's not clear if they would be ready to accept a loan move on worse terms.

The 29-year-old flopped big time at the World Cup, missing several sitters in Belgium's final group-stage game against Croatia. Belgium failed to score and were eliminated.
