Kalidou Koulibaly was understandably unhappy as his Senegal side crashed out of the World Cup after a Round of 16 defeat against England (3-0).
After the game, the Chelsea defender showed his class as he went up to the stands with Senegal fans. He applauded them before leaving the pitch.
Reporter Mohamed Salad, who posted the footage on Twitter, wrote: "Captain. Leader. One of the last players to leave the pitch. Appreciate this man so much.
"On the field it goes without saying, but what this man stands for off it can’t be expressed in words. Thank you Koulibaly for what you represent. A hero. 🇸🇳"
