Romano says Ronaldo move 'good idea' for Chelsea, explains why it's unlikely to happen

Cristiano Ronaldo is a free agent after his interview with Piers Morgan. The Portugal international has been linked with Chelsea.

Reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano thinks the veteran striker would have helped the Blues solve their issues up front. However, he claims that Todd Boehly prioritises building a squad for the future.

"On Chelsea, I think Cristiano is always a good idea," Fabrizio Romano told Caught Offside.

"[H]e could give them a goal threat and great experience and winning mentality, but their project is more about young players right now."

Romano has also commented on Ronaldo's links to Saudi side Al Nassr.

"Al Nassr’s bid is official and concrete, they are pushing and they want Ronaldo so that’s why they have a chance. Of course on Ronaldo’s side they still hope to find a solution in Europe, the market can change in five minutes for a free agent," he said.
