Potter reveals he had honest talk with Chelsea leaders as they aim to salvage Premier League campaign

Graham Potter has revealed that he has had an honest conversation with some of the senior Chelsea players in a bid to turn their season around.

"I spoke really at length yesterday with Thiago, Azpi, Jorgi, Kova – we had a really good conversation," the manager said, as quoted by The Telegraph.

"They again showed their qualities as people. They were honest, articulated their concerns well.

"They articulated their positivity, they articulated their responsibility. And I think we are in a place where we can move forward.

"It is an experienced team. The players are honest and they want to take responsibility. They want to improve, they want to win.

"But, at the same time, we are in a tough moment and there are challenges that affect the players as well. They are human beings. They are paid to do their jobs, but they are not robots.

"They are still affected by results and things that are happening in terms of the transition phase of the club."

Chelsea are taking on Fulham on Thursday night. If they win, the Blues will have the same number of points as their West London rivals.

The Blues are 10 points behind the fourth-placed Man United. With more than half a season to play, this is a gap that could be bridged, but Chelsea will need to get out of the slump soon.
