"Interest is genuine and strong by both Newcastle and Crystal Palace since July, but it’s up to Chelsea," Romano wrote in a column for CaughtOffside.

"They will make a decision on many players in the next days, including Gallagher. Potter remains big fan of his potential but it has to be club decision together with the coach."

Gallagher spends his first full season in Chelsea's senior team, and it has not been a smooth ride for him. The 22-year-old made 17 Premier League appearances but only started eight of those games.

The Chelsea academy graduate produced one of his best performances this season last weekend in the 1-0 win over Palace, so there's a chance he might be given a run of games in the starting XI now - unless the club decides to cash in.

Really? Meanwhile we are busy splashing cash here and there on other club's best players. You don't think Benfica, Shakhtar, etc, are shooting themselves on the foot. Has it occurred to you Gallagher would most definitely be a surplus to the team by next season and CFC would end paying him wages to seat on the bench, while he gets match rusty, and end up just like RLC, who no average club is even interested in. This is meant to be business in the first place for CFC.

Debruyne, Salah and host of others left but Chelsea won trophies without them. You can't compare Gallagher with Enzo, can you? Gallagher isn't there yet. Let him go and learn and improve and become best there, that's what we pray for him. It mustn't be all Chelsea. If we keep him someone has to leave to make way for others.

I don't get it...why on earth would we want to sell him, he's one of our best players & will only get better as he gets older! sounds to me like another potential example of Chelsea shooting themselves in the foot !!!

They should up their bid to at least 60 million, if they really want him. For me I think Gallagher needs to go out and get enough game time, and confidence.
